Hello lovely readers! Today, I’m excited to share with you my adventure of a motorbike tour over Siargao. If you’ve been pondering where to go in Siargao via motorcycle, I’ve got some delightful spots and insider tips just for you.
Navigating Siargao by Motorbike
- Duration: Some ask how long it takes to drive across Siargao. Well, it’s possible to do it in half a day, but I’d recommend setting aside a full day to truly savor all the magical spots this island offers.
- Licensing Requirements: One common question is whether you need a special license to rent motorcycles in Siargao. Guess what? Only an ID or Passport is enough!
- Motorbike Rentals: Wondering where to get your hands on a trusty ride? Siargao is teeming with rentals and hotels offering motorcycles. And about the cost? You’ll be happy to know it’s PHP 500.- for a full day or PHP 300.- for a half day. What a steal!
My Recommended Siargao Motorbike Route
Starting our journey from the heart of General Luna, the ride takes us through the scenic coconut view road. This route is truly a visual treat, adorned with thousands of green coconut palm trees that sway gracefully with the wind. The countryside views, local villages, and their cheerful inhabitants make this trip truly memorable. You’ll know you’re on the right path when you cross the iconic Maasin River Bridge.
From there, the road takes us to the beautiful Magpupungko Tidal Pool. After a refreshing dip, we head north, all the way to Pacific Beach and then further up past Burgos. The highlight of this route? The mesmerizing Alegria Beach, the northernmost tip of our island.
But that’s not all. Our return journey encompasses Santa Monica, San Benito, and Del Carmen, where the island’s only airport resides. After a short break, we set course for Dapa, Siargao’s capital. And in just another 30 minutes, we’re back in General Luna, wrapping up our exhilarating Siargao scooter tour.
Insider Tips:
- The road can get a little bumpy in places, so always wear a helmet and be cautious.
- Make sure to carry some cash, as many local shops don’t accept cards.
- Don’t forget to put on sun cream, and rest assured, there are plenty of snacks available in the villages.
