Taktak Falls: A Hidden Gem of Siargao Island
Taktak Falls is a hidden gem located in the north of Siargao Island that is well worth a visit. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the waterfall by motorbike or van from General Luna, but the journey is worth it as you get to see many other Siargao highlights on the way.
Once you arrive at Taktak Falls, you’ll find a built-up, manmade area just above the waterfall. There’s a hut where you’ll need to pay the entrance fee of 25 pesos, plus 10 more to park your bike. From there, it’s a short walk to the waterfall, where you’ll find tables and a roofed area for enjoying your lunch with friends and family.
The main highlight of Taktak Falls is the arching tree jump into the pool beneath the falls. While the water may not be the crystal-clear blue color of other Philippine waterfalls, it’s still plenty of fun to swim and jump into. Just make sure to depth-check before jumping, as there are some shallow areas with large boulders.
If you’re looking for a refreshing break from the heat of the sun, Taktak Falls is the perfect spot to take a dip in cool, fresh water. While it may take a bit of effort to get there, the experience is well worth it. So, pack your bags, grab your swimsuit, and head out to Taktak Falls for a relaxing and fun-filled day.
